Official Contest Rules for an Online Giveaway

Howste Technical Services hereafter known as “Howste” will host a series of contests over social media. The recipient of the promotional item or service is hereafter known as “contestant”. These contests will be run during a specific timeline. If no end time is set, the end time will be midnight 7 calendar days from the start of the contest. If a time is specified in the contest, that will supersede the timeframe of 7 calendar days. No entries will be accepted for the giveaway after the contest expires.

No guarantees are made on behalf of Howste. Any unforeseen circumstances will make the contest void. Enter at your own risk. Howste will make every attempt to correct the situation in a fair manor. Fair being determined by the Howste CEO and CTO. Any outside resolution will not be sought.

These contests are being handled in a fair manor to offer a promotional offer to the entrants. In a case where the offer is not available in an area, the entrant is responsible for knowing the laws and rules of their area. Do not enter if this giveaway is not valid in your area.

Howste does not offer support in areas that have limited or no internet.

No purchase necessary. Howste does not host lotteries. We may ask you to comment or like something online, although that is completely voluntary. Should you wish to be included in the giveaway with no public action online, please submit a request to info@howste.net and we will be glad to add your entry to the participants.

Eligibility: Our services are primarily business to business. Howste can and does work with home offices and does offer some individual services. Most of our giveaways are geared toward businesses or website owner. If you do not fit the criteria for a winner, your prize will be forfeited. Contact us for special considerations. Our gifts are nontransferable.

Duration: The duration of the giveaway will be listed on the ad. If it is not listed on the ad it will last for 7 days after the initial posting, and end at midnight of the 7th day Eastern Standard Time. For example, if the ad starts on Monday, it will end Sunday at midnight EST. Any entries after the end of the contest will not be submitted for the gifts or prizes.

Our events are sponsored by us, Howste Technical Services. Any other affiliates or sponsors will be listed on the ad for the promotion. Any specific tangible item we give away does not include the brand of the item as a sponsor of the event. For example, if we were to give away an intel chip set for a computer, this does not mean that intel was involved in any way with the giveaway and they are not to be held responsible for any part of the promotional offer.

Prizes: Each of our promotions will feature a prize that is offered from Howste. This prize will be one of 3 things:

1 Computer support: this will include 1 hour of support that the contestant can use the time to:

      • Ask and answer questions. It is recommended that these questions be submitted before hand to make the best use of your time.
      • Ask for an over all assessment of the current set up that is in their office.
      • Ask for assistance with a specific item or situation.

Any time required above and beyond the initial hour will be charged at the current hourly rate. The contestant may wish to set a timer on their behalf to ensure that the time is used for their intended purpose. Timers are not the responsibility of Howste.

A contract/agreement will be signed prior to the implementation of the promotional event or giveaway. If this agreement is not signed, the contestant forfeits their promotional event or giveaway.

2 Digital support: this will include 1 hour of support that the contestant can use the time to:

      • Ask and answer questions. It is recommended that these questions be submitted beforehand to make the best use of your time.
      • Ask for an overall assessment of the current set up that is the digital footprint of the contestant’s company.
      • Ask for assistance with a specific item or situation as it relates to digital marketing. (websites, SEO, WordPress, reputation management, social media, email marketing, branding, etc.)

Any time required above and beyond the initial hour will be charged at the current hourly rate. The contestant may wish to set a timer on their behalf to ensure that the time is used for their intended purpose. Timers are not the responsibility of Howste.

3 An item: this will be shown in the advertisement for the contest. The item in the contest image may be a replica or a similar image to the actual item that is being given away. Howste makes no guarantee on the product or item and any warrantee would only be by the manufacturer of the item.

      • Howste has no intention to support the promotional item.
      • Acceptance of the promotional item does not imply that the receiver of the item is a client of Howste.
      • Howste is not responsible for any use, damage, or otherwise of the receiver of the promotional item.
      • Howste does not offer training or information above and beyond the receipt of the promotional item. Any additional support or questions will be at an hourly rate.

Mechanics/method: Howste’s online contests will be hosted via social media. The directions will be clearly defined in the ad. Usually this is an ad that states that you will need to like and share a post. By liking the post, you are generating momentum. By sharing the post, you are accepting the entry into the contest. Commenting the post may assist in reaching the criteria for the promotion.

Several of our contests will have goals to meet for the contest to be effective. (if we get 200 likes and 200 shares, then we will give away an item to every person that liked or shared the post by the deadline)

Since we want to make sure that our contest is fair, we are initially offering a gift to every participant that shares the post.

Judging/Voting: If we offer a prize for a single contestant, then there will be a post that states this. The criteria for judging/voting will be 2 employees choosing the best response to the post. These 2 judges will be selected internally. No immediate family member of the judges will be accepted as winners to the contest.

Liability limitations: Howste is not responsible for any use or misuse of any promotional item or time. All offers need to be claimed within 48 hours of the contests ending. Any unclaimed promotional items will be available for future promotions.

Privacy and publicity: We are not using these contests to collect information. We only use the social media page to validate the contestants when they are claiming their promotional item. During this time, we will only have the information available to us through our social media page. No personal information will be available at this time.

If there is an event that leads to our website for signing up at that time. Only the information in the fields will be collected, although the website itself may collect cookies, those cookies will not be used for further data collection by Howste. This information will be used for the contest and it will be added to our email campaign if the contestant agrees to it. No data will be sold or purchased by Howste. Howste will also maintain our database of information offline to limit the access of our information in the event of an unsolicited cyber event.
